In spite of the coronavirus pandemic and the disrupted conditions affecting normal life, the Mining Legislation Reform Institute (MLRI) has not ceased working. It closely follows the developments taking place in the sphere, the proposals submitted by the RA Government and the discussions held in the National Assembly.
The main mission of the MLRI is to make mining practice in Armenia responsible and mutually beneficial.
We hope that in the next phase we will be able to contribute to the reform and improvement of the mining laws in the country, pursuing the supreme goal of the state interests of the Republic of Armenia, the welfare of the Armenian people and the preservation of the environment to be inherited by future generations.
24 July, 2020The Mining Legislation Reform Institute (MLRI) is a registered Armenian NGO. It seeks to ensure that mining in Armenia provides sufficient benefits to the country and local communities. Its main activities include research, stakeholder consultation, policy development, public education, communications, advocacy, and legislative reform.
The MLRI was previously based at the American University of Armenia’s Center for Responsible Mining. The activities of the MLRI are made possible by funding from the Tufenkian Foundation.
