Sky News Business Anchor Jon Dee will be the keynote presenter at the Mining Legislation Reform Institute (MLRI) event in Sydney, Australia on 5 December 2019. The event will showcase the work of MLRI and shed light on the potential to implement sustainable development practices in Armenia.
An advocate for business sustainability, Jon Dee is the founder of a number of charities and currently hosts the weekly ‘Smart Money’ program on Sky News Business Australia.
Jon’s association with Armenia can be traced back to Rock Aid Armenia, a charity he founded in 1988 to support communities affected by the Armenian Earthquake. More recently, Jon visited Armenia in 2019 to mark the 30th anniversary of the charity and further promote social reforms and sustainability.
Having discovered the serious environmental and social impacts of poor mining practices in Armenia, Jon has lent his support to the MLRI’s mining legislation reform initiatives.
Event participants will also be briefed on the politics of mining legislation reform in Armenia and the controversial Amulsar Mine project by MLRI Executive Director Varant Meguerditchian.
